Here’s to thinking outside that proverbial box; to tipping a topic on its edge and examining from another angle; to sideways approaches.  Here’s to candor and fighting euphemisms, fight fight against candied words, the nation’s newest (and oldest) confectionery sensation.  To opening doors of dialogue and engaging points of view different from one’s own– more words, less war.  To idealism, realism, optimism.  Here’s to the bohemians, the offbeat, the closet geniuses, the salt-and-earth folks, the alternative musicians, performers, farmers, teachers, artists.

Here’s to the legends of good reporting– Edward Murrow, Walter Cronkite, and Katharine Graham, to name a few. Here’s to philosophic musings, wanderlust, introspection and the pursuit of one’s ontology, to improvisation, political wanderings, and random ruminations.

And finally, here’s to Philosophical Fragments, by Kierkegaard.  The book that bespeaks of frontiers, passion, and the paradox of thought.
